Improving Subversion usability by using Subversion properties
Mark Phippard is developer of Subclipse, an Eclipse-integrated GUI for the version control system Subversion. In two recent blog entries he describes how Subversion clients can improve the usability of Subversion by leveraging the properties feature of Subversion.
- Enhanced Support for Branches and Tags in Subclipse
is a Subclipse-only-feature that uses properties to track creation and location of branch and tag directories. The relevant property is called subclipse:tags and has a simple format that designates location, revision of creation (important for merging) and type.
- Integrating Subversion with your Issue Tracking System describes how subversion properties can be used to include issue tracking ids in a standard manner in Subversion's commit logs.
