Wordpress and Planet
has updated his weblog software. How do I know? Martin uses WordPress and the WordPress generated RSS feed does not include timestamps (at least the timestamps are not recoginized by the ultra-liberal feed parser
). This parser is used in the Planet comminity aggregation engine and the Straw RSS new reader.
If you update a WordPress installation, the feed parser will think all your entries have changed and list them as new. And because you cannot correctly determine the timestamp of the entry, the Planet and Straw assume the downloadtime equals the timestamp.
This leads to ten new entries in my RSS reader that I already have read and to ten entries at every Planet-aggregated community weblog this WordPress installation is aggregated by.
